Write from facts rather than momentum
Pause long enough to remove accusations, assumptions, and details that belong to someone else. For a message about how to apologize for submitting an assignment late, use this factual base: name the assignment, rule, person, or shared work affected and do not conceal the extent of the problem.
Offer a proportionate next step
Match the size of the request to the relationship and to what the recipient can reasonably decide now. Ask which repair is permitted, complete your own work, and accept a fair academic consequence. Make the immediate next step clear enough that the recipient can answer without reconstructing the entire history.
Protect privacy on both sides
Do not pressure a teacher or classmate to erase a consequence or support a false account. Report bullying, threats, abuse, and safeguarding concerns to a trusted adult or official school channel. Use the most private legitimate channel available and do not share the exchange to recruit support or pressure.
